INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --The FDA will not approve the use of tadalafil (generic name: dapoxetine) for use in the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE) in women over 18, when the drug is not available or approved for the treatment of PE in men. The agency announced on Oct. 11 that it was considering the use of dapoxetine for a condition called "benign premature ejaculation."
Tadalafil is the first oral drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of PE in men. It was developed in the 1990s by Eli Lilly and co-developed by Eli Lilly under the name Cialis.
